The Wandering Room is an ‘in flux’ artist-run initiative and collective consisting of David Creed, Sarah Werkmeister, and Angela Rossitto.  In operation since October 2007 the group (each solo artists respectively) frequently collaborate in the making of art works and respond creatively to curatorial exhibition opportunities and challenges. To date, The Wandering Room have devised concepts for events, projects and exhibitions that have taken place in a variety of gallery and ‘beyond the gallery’ locations.

As an artist-run-initiative focusing on non-traditional media and experimental practice, we aim to provide artists with the freedom to explore new working methods as well as respond to issues of ephemerality, transience, temporality and site-specificity. The Wandering Room have previously undertaken exhibition programs at 99 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane; in the front window of Ryan Renshaw Gallery, and within the confines of a child’s doll house. Our latest project sees us moving into Grey Street at South Bank and inviting artists to undertake a studio residency viewable from the street.
