SANDRA WOOLOCK

 

 

When Sam Simmons of Triple J implored his listeners '...if someone out there could knit me a life size version of Sandra Bullock...' David Creed of artist run initiative The Wandering Room took up the challenge. After that eventful phone call to the station the knitting and crocheting was soon underway! Collaborating with friends, family, frenemies, and random knitting enthusiasts, Sandra Woolock was born.

 

Sandra Woolock hoped to heal a long-held boyhood gripe of Sam Simmons. Sandra was unveiled at the Brisbane Powerhouse in March, 2009, was part of Sam Simmons' comedy routine at the Powerhouse, and is scheduled to accompany Simmons to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. It also received critical aclaim from Triple J listeners:
