CONCRETE DREAMS
Saturday 1st June 6-8pm (Opening Night)
Sunday 2nd June 11am-2pm (Viewing)
The Wandering Room
208 Victoria St (enter via Elizabeth St)
Brunswick VIC
The Wandering Room’s third instalment this year at our new space- the corner of Victoria and Elizabeth Streets, Brunswick at the back of an old milk bar- is ‘Concrete Dreams’.
‘Concrete Dreams’ investigates the meanings and materiality of concrete. ‘Concrete’ usually refers to a solid tangible physical thing that is long lasting like a building’s foundations and is made according to a formula. ‘Dreams’ on the other hand are intangible, abstract and often challenging to articulate. By combining these opposing terms, the artists challenge the audience to re-conceptualise afresh what this ‘pedestrian’, ecologically problematic and permanent material can be.
This exhibition features the artists: Alrey Batol, Isabel Buck, Daniella Ruffino and Brigit Ryan.
Please join us at the opening for celebratory drinks!
