The Wandering Room would like to invite you to attend the closing of this show, the sixth of our Wandering Room on Grey Street Project, this Saturday evening the 17th of December from 6pm. For newcomers, our space is shop 13/14 Little Stanley and Grey Streets, South Bank (entry is diagonally opposite the South Bank Cinemas and next to Flowers of the World).

 

The Golden Age has seen The Wandering Room's David Creed and Angela Rossitto undergo studio investigations into the enduring power and allure of gold. The results, which will include sculpture, light, projection, and smell, will be a precursor to the group’s work for the upcoming Christmas Collaborations exhibition at Pop Gallery (Woolloongabba). From the lost cities of the Aztecs, the wide ranging symbols of the alchemists, to Ticky Fullerton’s daily gold prices on Late Line Business, the human desire for gold is timeless, often futile, and on occasion deadly; does anyone recall the sage words of Midnight Star’s The Midas Touch.. ?
